No Other Name

And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
(Acts 4:12)

Meditation

Many of us have heard a popular television personality tell us that everyone will go to heaven if we are good people. She thinks there are many paths to God and heaven. In her opinion, any god we choose to worship will lead us to heaven. Because of her popularity, many people are being led astray. She is a wolf in sheep’s clothing. Nothing of what she claims is true; don’t you believe it! She is, what’s called in scripture, an antichrist. She is not alone; many people will preach false doctrine. No matter what anyone ever tells you, there are NOT many paths to God in heaven. There is only ONE path. The one true and living God in heaven gave his only Son, and it’s his name that we must call on to be saved. PERIOD!
We cannot call on Allah, Krishna, Buddha or any other of the hundreds of gods worshiped around the world. There is no Zen inner god giving us peace. Gia or Mother Earth will not be there in our time of desperate need. Those other gods are not alive because they were all created in the minds of men. They can’t hear us when we cry out, “save us!” Neither can we save ourselves. I’m sure the above-mentioned television personality does not bow down to Buddha or any other god. I’m sure she thinks she will go to paradise just because she’s such a good person. Again, NOT true! We all fall short of the glory of God. Nor will a corruption of the one true God or his Son bring us to the Pearly Gates. The scriptures tell us who the Father and Jesus are. We cannot change them to fit our earthly desires.
We must call on the name of Jesus. Only he can hear us because he is alive! Even the so-called Christian sects that do not recognize the deity of Christ are false. What good would it do to call on the name of Jesus if he were not God. It will do you no good to call on the mother of Jesus or any of the so-called Saints for your redemption, or even to pray for you. They are just regular human beings, with no power or divinity. Not only can they NOT help you, they cannot even hear you. A day of reckoning is coming for each of us. If we haven’t confessed Christ as our Lord and Savior before we die, we have no hope. God doesn’t want anyone to go to hell, that why he sent Jesus to us. Our fate rests in our hands, don’t wait until it’s too late.





Daily Prayer

Lord God, you created all things, including all of us. You are there before the foundations of time itself. You stepped out of eternity and into the world you created to become one of us. You were tempted, but you did not sin. You were accused, but you did not speak. You were sacrificed, but you did not condemn. You were laid in the tomb, but you rose on the third day. You ascended to the Father, but you will return. Lord, we are so thankful for all you’ve done for us. It is that name we must call on to be saved. All other gods, or things worshiped, are the creations of the minds of men. They will not answer when called upon for salvation. They are not real or alive like our Savior is. He sits at your right hand, awaiting your command to return to meet out justice upon this wicked world. Give us the courage to share the good news of Jesus Christ with everyone we encounter. It’s in his name, we pray. Amen!

Preach the Word

Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction. (2 Timothy 4:2) Meditation I used to think it was only the pastors job to preach the Word of God. I’m not a preacher, so it didn’t occur to me to share the gospel. However, this verse does not say, “Preachers, preach the word.” Whether you realize it or not, we are all ministers of the gospel. We have been charged with the awesome task of telling everyone about Jesus and why he went to the cross. When Jesus gave the “Great Commission,” to make disciples of all nations; he wasn’t just talking to his own disciples. He was speaking to every one of us. There is no other mission or calling more important than that for us. Even if we go to church every Sunday, but do nothing else, we’re not in the game; we’re just spectators. Think About Heavenly Things

Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things. (Philippians 4:8) Why have I spent so much time filling my mind with garbage? I’ve read unclean jokes or off-color cartoons and shared them on social media. I used to go to movies or watch things on television that are detestable to the Lord and thought nothing of it. My baser instincts are to gravitate toward the impure offerings of our entertainment industry. How can I, as a Christian, live a righteous life if I’m continuously feeding on the poisonous filth of this world? Instead, I should look for and promote the things that are wholesome and good.
