There's Victory In Jesus

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you.
(Romans 15:20)

Meditation

It’s terribly hard these days to feel like we are not fighting a losing battle? Everywhere we look, Satan has made great strides against the Church. The governments of the world are being run by criminals and there is little the people can do about it. Instead of protecting their citizens, they welcome the dangerous influx of thugs and criminals. Much of the American Church doesn’t even preach from the Bible anymore. Many people claim to be Christians, but their lifestyles belie that idea. The Bible is still the number one selling book in the world, but it doesn’t seem like many people ever open and read it. This is only a tiny list of what’s wrong in our world.
The battles against evil will rage on until the Lord returns, but the war has already been won. We must remember Satan’s victories are only temporary. Jesus defeated him on the cross and that is the most important thing to remember. If we’re focused on what Satan is doing, if we spend our time worrying about everything that’s wrong with our world, then we’re ignoring what Jesus wants us to do. He wants us to be sharing the gospel with everyone we know. We tend to assume there’s nothing we can do to make a difference even in our own little corner of the world. That only means we don’t have much faith in God’s abilities. He can use us to share our faith with one person who will carry it to another and on and on until possibly hundreds have heard about Jesus.
Satan has no chance of overcoming his fate. He is obsessed with trying to take as many people to hell with him as he can. Our Father in heaven weeps whenever someone dies without the love of Christ in their heart. Jesus doesn’t want anyone to go to hell, so now we must do the same and share the message of grace to others we meet. Jesus lives and we are the result of his handiwork. We are saved because we heard the good news of Christ from another believer. Because of the sacrifice of Jesus, we will one day take our place in heaven, living and worshiping God forever. Whether we’ve been saved for many years or only a short while, our salvation was celebrated by the angels in heaven. We are saved by the grace of our Lord and Savior and it is he who has won the final victory.

Prayer Time

Father God in heaven, your name is supreme in all the earth. By his grace, Jesus has called us out of this world and given us the hope of a blessed eternity. We praise and glorify his name, the only name that can save us. Don’t let us be fooled by Satan’s disciples who will try to lead us to false gods. Hold us in the bosom of your truth and love. We thank you for the mercy and grace you displayed when Jesus came to walk this earth. We thank you for the victory over Satan and the hold he had on our lives. We will be eternally grateful for the forgiveness of our many sins. Strengthen our faith every day as we live in this world full of distractions and temptations to sin. Put us back on the righteous path when we fail. Give us a zeal to share the same gospel that was lovingly shared with us, with everyone we know. Everyone we meet should have no doubt that we are followers of the Lord Jesus Christ. We love you and want only to please you, Lord, with our whole hearts, minds, and souls. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen!
