He Created All Things

Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him, and without him was not anything made that was made. And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.
(John 1:1-3, 14)

Put to rest any doubt in your mind that Jesus is anything other than God. Understanding just what is meant by a Trinity, with three distinct personalities in one God, is way above my pay grade. However, two of the three persons of the God-head are clearly described here. Even though I don’t totally understand what a trinity is, doesn’t mean I don’t believe there is one. I don’t totally understand how the universe is held together but that doesn’t mean I don’t believe it is.
Once I believed I could also discard my questions and uncertainties about how we got here. This passage tells me Jesus is the creator of everything that was made. Confirming the Genesis creation account. Before I was saved, I didn’t believe we were created but as I grew older and learned more, the Theory of Evolution wasn’t holding water anymore. I was relieved to finally learn the truth!
Happily, that’s not the end of the story. He is not a Creator who creates and then walks away. When the time was right for God the Father to complete his plan, God the Son became one of us. He lived with us to offer himself as a spotless lamb to be sacrificed for the sins of us all. He died so that we can be with him for eternity. Don’t waste another moment; no one is promised tomorrow. If you haven’t given your life to him yet, do it today. You will never regret it.

Father in heaven, there is much we don’t understand about you, but one thing is certain, you love us with every part of your being. We thank you for this clarifying scripture that removes all doubt about who the Christ is. He is a separate and distinct personality of your essence. We don’t have to understand it to believe it’s true. We know that he was there at the Creation of everything, and without him nothing would be created. That was only the start of your plan for each and every one of us. You showed your great love for us in that while we were still deep in our sins, the Word became one of us, being born a helpless babe in a hostile world. We know what kind of loving savior he was because he willingly went to the cross to pay for our sins. Thank you, God, for that kind of love that transcends all other love. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen!
