He Is The Creator
For everything was created by him, in
heaven and on earth, the visible and the invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or rulers or authorities—all things have been created through him and
for him. He is before all things, and by him all things hold together.
(Colossians 1:16-17)
Meditation
We are
constantly bombarded by a secular worldview with no acceptance for other
philosophies. That worldview has no tolerance for the idea of a creator or
anything that didn’t happen by some happy accident. If a secular scientist even
broaches the idea of Intelligent Design, he is attacked. The promoters of this
atheist view want us to believe everything exists by some sort of cosmic
coincidence. From absolutely nothing, not a spec of dust, not a single atom,
everything we can see and can’t see came into existence. In the telling of
their myth of creation, it happened over billions of years and continues to
this very day.
Atheistic
scientists put forth all sorts of fanciful theories and elaborate artist’s
conceptions of what they want to believe happened. It’s a belief system that
has actually become their religion. There is no more provable evidence for the
Big Bang and biological evolution myths than there is for the Genesis
explanation of creation. There is no scientific experiment that can be run to
prove their theory. That’s why it’s still called the Theory of Evolution,
because it cannot be proven. Belief in the secular scientific explanations for
how we got here requires more faith than what’s needed to believe in a
supernatural creator.
As followers of Jesus Christ, we know the simple and
wonderful truth. Before anything existed, there was God in all his Triune glory.
It was by him and through him that all things came into existence over the six
days of creation. He created the things that are unseen, like the microscopic
world, and the things that are seen like, the universe and us. His majesty did
not end with creation, although that would have been enough. Just one example
is the billions of galaxies in the universe. The spiral galaxies, like our own
Milky Way, are spinning at unimaginable speeds. Gravity is not a strong enough
force to hold the stars of the galaxies in their place so why don’t they just
fly apart? Why aren’t those stars flung out into open space? It’s the power of
God that holds all things together.
Prayer Time
Our Father in Heaven, is there a way for us to adequately thank you for what you’ve done for us? You have given us eyes to see the splendor of your creation. All we have to do is look around, and everything we see, you’ve created with the breath your mouth. You created us in your image and put the breath in our lungs to give us the voice to praise and worship you. You have given us ears to hear and the minds to discern the truth, and to challenge every false teaching. Father help us to never take this special creation for granted. Even though the leaders of our world right now do not submit to your will or seek your face, they are the leaders the worldly people deserve. We know you are in control and you hold all things together. We are trying to patiently wait for your return. Thank you, Father, for giving salvation to all who have asked you; coming into their hearts and saving them from their sins. In the name of Jesus, we pray. Amen!
