Exalt the Lord Your God

O Lord, you are my God; I will exalt you; I will praise your name, for you have done wonderful things, plans formed of old, faithful and sure.
(Isaiah 25:1)

Meditation

What does it mean to exalt? The dictionary gives these synonyms; promote, dignify, raise, ennoble, and glorify. How should I exalt the Lord in society today? Am I glorifying God by acting like I always did before I was saved? Am I promoting God in my life when I don’t ever share his love with anyone else? Am I exalting him when I ignore him for six days out of seven? Am I dignifying God when I use his name to curse my enemy? Of course not. God is above all else. He should be our first thought in the morning, praising and thanking him for another day. Then, God should be one of our last thoughts as we retire for the night, thanking him for whatever kind of day we had.
The Lord has done many great and wonderful things, including saving the lot of us through the blood of his Son, Jesus. His plan for us was established even before that first day of creation. He could have made us without a free will. Without that, we couldn’t choose to reject him or follow him. We would be like robots. He could have wiped out all flesh when he flooded the whole earth, instead, he followed his plan and saved those on the Ark. Jesus could have arrived as a conquering avenger. Instead, Jesus came as a servant to all just as was planned all along. He could have ordered the Second Coming already, spilling his wrath on the world, to visit his justice on us all. Instead, he waits for the last sinner to repent, just as has been planned from the beginning. He has stayed faithful to his plan all through the centuries.
If you haven’t yet given your heart and your life to Christ, I hope you’ll do it soon. Quite possibly, in the very near future, it will be too late. Tomorrow is promised to no one. You could die tomorrow. If you die without Jesus as your savior, it will be too late after you’re dead. There is a judgment coming down on the earth from God that we commonly call the Tribulation. It’s a time that will be more horrific than anything anyone, alive or dead, has ever experienced. You will probably die in that conflagration since two-thirds of the earth’s population will fall. If you should die then, it will be too late to submit to the Lord. Do it today. Jesus waits for you with his arms wide open.

Prayer Time

Lord God, you are the personification of love. You hold the entire universe together with the power of your thoughts. Thank you, Lord, for redeeming us from the bleak existence, filled with wickedness and the low living you found us in. Thank you for rescuing us from the path to destruction we were on. You have made it possible for us to put on the righteousness of Christ. He came to redeem us, putting us on a clear and virtuous path. Dear Lord, you are great, and we give you the glory. We praise you for all the wonderful things you have done throughout the history of the world. Things that you planned from the foundation of time. Things you told us you were going to do and then you do them. We await the promised fulfillment of the return of Christ as patiently as we can because we know you have never gone back on a promise before. All we can ask, is that you come quickly, Lord. In Jesus’ name. Amen!
